Baroness - The Red Album

Review by ROHMI LESTARI

The Red Album by Baroness is a must-have for any metal fan. The album is a perfect blend of heavy riffs, catchy melodies, and powerful vocals. The band's unique sound is a mix of sludge, stoner, and progressive metal, making it stand out from other bands in the genre.

The album opens with "Rays on Pinion," a heavy and fast-paced track that sets the tone for the rest of the album. The band's musicianship is on full display, with intricate guitar solos and thundering drums. The vocals of John Baizley are also impressive, ranging from clean singing to harsh screams.

The album's standout track is "The Birthing," a seven-minute epic that showcases the band's progressive side. The song starts off slow and melodic before building up to a heavy and chaotic climax.

Other highlights include "Wanderlust" and "Blackpowder Orchard," both of which feature catchy choruses and memorable riffs. The album closes with "Grad," a haunting instrumental track that leaves a lasting impression.

This is the closest Baroness will ever sound to Mastodon, this song is great and I'm loving it

I love you guys. Your music is awesome. But this video was antithetical to the music for me. I know you've come a long way since this video since then......just wanted to give my 2 cents for all they are not worth.

Love this song. Would love to see another Red Album from you guys. Maybe Crimson? Or Burgundy?

To everyone making comparisons to Mastodon, Baroness's _Blue Record_ > any Mastodon record. And I like Mastodon.

Meh..... I am trying hard to dig Baroness but it just comes off as a Mastodon clone, IMHO.
