i would agree the high tenor notes are untouchable, now while there are thousands of groups from the fifties and sixties and so many great sides we can think of other high tenor leads and sometimes i think is that a female lead? quintones on gee Im willing, majestics nitey nite on marlin is that little iris culmer or a male? love the melloharps on tin pan alley. i can go on and on. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J1geAypCwi0 walk beside me 1963 suburbans a souund alike of franklin peaker but it maybe from the majors group from philly ricky cordo though shelley is a new york label

I remember dancing 'really slow' to this great tune at the Sacred Heart dances til the priest would come over and tap us on the shoulders to 'speed it up' a bit. Wonderful song, wonderful memories.

A true classic from Harold Melvin and The Blue Notes, though I always felt it couldn't be Harold singing that awesome falsetto lead. Franklin Peaker was the lead singer's name?

I loved listening to Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes on the radio when I was a little kid in the 1970s. After finding out about this song on Wikipedia, I had to listen to this song here on YouTube to hear how this same group sounded way back in the mid-1950's. I'm so glad that you posted it. Now I know why my mother misses the 1950s. I gave this song a thumbs-up. :-)
