Review by matt qureshi

Carmina Burana Titan is an exceptional album that features the works of two renowned composers, Carl Orff and Gustav Mahler. The album is a combination of Orff's famous Carmina Burana and Mahler's Symphony No.1, also known as Titan.

The album starts with Orff's Carmina Burana, which is a collection of 24 medieval poems set to music. The music is vibrant, intense, and dramatic, with a mix of choral and solo performances. The choir's performance is exceptional, with a powerful and emotional delivery that captures the essence of the poems.

Mahler's Symphony No.1, on the other hand, is a grand and majestic piece that showcases the composer's mastery of orchestration. The symphony is divided into four movements, each with its unique character and mood. The opening movement is bold and adventurous, while the second movement is a beautiful and serene piece that features a soulful solo from the clarinet.

The third movement is playful and energetic, with a lively tune that will have listeners tapping their feet. The final movement is a grand finale that brings together all the themes from the previous movements, building up to a dramatic and explosive conclusion.

About Carl Orff, Gustav Mahler

Carl Orff (July 10, 1895 March 29, 1982) was a 20th-century German composer, most famous for Carmina Burana (1935/6). He was also successful and influential in the field of music education. Orff is best known for Carmina Burana (1935/6), a "scenic cantata". It is the first part of a trilogy that also includes Catulli Carmina and Trionfo di Afrodite. Carmina Burana reflected his interest in medieval German poetry. The trilogy as a whole is called Trionfi, or "Triumphs". The composer described it as the celebration of the triumph of the human spirit through sexual and holistic balance. The work was based on thirteenth-century poetry found in a manuscript dubbed the Codex latinus monacensis found in the Benedictine monastery of Benediktbeuern in 1803 and written by the Goliards; this collection is also known as Carmina Burana. While "modern" in some of his compositional techniques, Orff was able to capture the spirit of the medieval period in this trilogy, with infectious rhythms and simple harmonies. The medieval poems, written in Latin and an early form of German, are often racy, but without descending into smut. "Fortuna Imperatrix Mundi
