The album Harpsichord Concertos by Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach, featuring Alexander Cattarino on the harpsichord and the Slovak Chamber Orchestra under the direction of Bohdan Warchal, is a delightful collection of Baroque music. The album features six concertos that showcase the virtuosity of both the soloist and the ensemble.
The performances on this album are top-notch. Cattarino's playing is crisp and precise, with a clear understanding of the nuances of Bach's compositions. The Slovak Chamber Orchestra provides a solid foundation for the soloist, with excellent articulation and phrasing. Warchal's direction is also noteworthy, as he keeps the ensemble's playing tight and focused without sacrificing the expressive qualities of the music.
