Review by Giorgia Petrini

The album Domingo Ichaya Viene Clareando by Conjunto Universitario Achalay is a beautiful collection of traditional Argentine folk music. The band's unique sound and powerful vocals bring a refreshing new energy to these classic songs.

The album opens with the title track "Domingo Ichaya Viene Clareando," a lively tune that sets the tone for the rest of the album. The band's use of traditional instruments such as the charango and bombo add authenticity and depth to the music.

Throughout the album, Conjunto Universitario Achalay showcases their versatility by seamlessly blending different styles of Argentine folk music. Tracks like "La Maza" and "La Zamba del Pañuelo" are slower and more melancholic, while "La Huella" and "El Choclo" are upbeat and danceable.

The standout track on the album is "La Cumparsita," a classic tango that the band has reimagined with their own unique twist. The haunting vocals and intricate instrumentation make this rendition of the song truly special.
