The Great Welsh Choirs Corau Mawr Cymru by Côr Godrer Aran is an exceptional album that showcases the rich and powerful sound of Welsh choirs. The album features a diverse selection of traditional Welsh hymns and contemporary songs, all performed with passion and precision by the talented singers of Côr Godrer Aran.

The album's opening track, "Cwm Rhondda," sets the tone for the rest of the album with its rousing melody and soaring harmonies. Other standout tracks include "Calon Lân," a beloved Welsh hymn that is beautifully rendered by the choir, and "Myfanwy," a hauntingly beautiful love song that showcases the choir's ability to convey deep emotion through song.

Throughout the album, the choir's powerful voices are expertly blended to create a full and rich sound that is both uplifting and moving. The choir's commitment to their craft is evident in every note they sing, and their passion for Welsh music shines through in every track.

About Côr Godrer Aran

Formed in 1949 by the late Tom Jones, Godrer Aran have been at the forefront of Welsh Male Voice singing for over 60 years. Their base is the small village of Llanuwchllyn, near Bala in Meirionnydd, and they have managed to maintain their very special sound through a combination of hard work, natural talent and a thoroughly professional MD in Eirian Owen. Under Tom Jones, Godrer Aran were primarily a Penillion or Cerdd Dant party, with their own distinctive voice. But when Eirian Owen, a Llanuwchllyn girl herself, took over in 1976, she transformed the choir into a highly professional and disciplined outfit, without losing any of its original spirit. Having triumphed several times in the National and International Eisteddfod, as well as in many other choral competitions, their discography is impressive, and so is their long tradition of successful overseas tours. Their packed-out tours to Australasia are legendary in male choir circles, especially the time when they raised the famous roof at the Sydney Opera House!
