Review by Vegim Rashiti

The Sounds Of Brass Series by Foden's Motor Works Band, Derek M Garside, is a stunning album that showcases the band's exceptional musicianship and artistry. The album features a diverse selection of tracks, ranging from traditional brass band pieces to contemporary compositions, all performed with precision and passion.

One of the standout tracks on the album is "The Year of the Dragon," a challenging piece that showcases the band's technical prowess and musicality. The hauntingly beautiful rendition of "Deep Harmony" is another highlight, with the band's rich, full-bodied sound perfectly capturing the emotional depth of the piece.

Throughout the album, the Foden's Motor Works Band demonstrates their ability to interpret a wide range of musical styles, from the lively and energetic "Marching Through Georgia" to the soulful and introspective "The Lark in the Clear Air."

About Foden's Motor Works Band, Derek M Garside

Brass band from Sandbach (Cheshire, England, UK), established around 1900. It was funded initially by the industrialist Edwin Foden. On the 13 October 1980, the company, which had for many years sponsored the band, sold its assets to the 'Paccar Company of Seattle', USA. They decided to keep its sponsorship going but, two years later, renamed as 'Sandbach Engineering Company' they decided to withdraw funding for band on the 31 December 1982. In 1983, Richard Carlton Tickell, owner of OTS (Overseas Technical Service) took over the sponsorship of the band and now the were back in business. By the end of 2007 and the start of 2008 were again looking for sponsorship as the Richardson association came to an end. Instead of one major sponsor the band has become self-financing.
