Review by Ulrike Lehmann

Tex Beneke and His Orchestra's Music From The Film The Alamo is a captivating album that captures the essence of the epic film. The album features a mix of stirring orchestral pieces and traditional Mexican folk songs that perfectly complement the movie's setting in Texas and Mexico.

The orchestra's rendition of the iconic theme song, "The Green Leaves of Summer," is particularly noteworthy, with its sweeping strings and powerful horn section. The album also features Tex Beneke's smooth vocals on several tracks, showcasing his versatility as both a bandleader and a singer.

You can actually hear the record noise on this - apparently Michael Brown used a microphone off of a high fidelity record! Great vocal - very underappreciated singer. I love the album on the first side and it is one of my childhood favorites. Tex Beneke with a Big Band sound - well produced as well.
