Review by Allen Hall

The album "Music From Marlboro Schubert Trout Quintet" by Franz Schubert, Rudolf Serkin, Jaime Laredo, Leslie Parnas, Philipp Naegele, and Julius Levine is a stunning collection of classical music that is sure to captivate listeners. The performances are masterful, with each musician bringing their unique talents to the table.

The highlight of the album is the Trout Quintet, which Schubert composed in 1819. This piece is a masterpiece of chamber music, and the musicians on this album do it justice. The interplay between the piano, violin, viola, cello, and double bass is exquisite, and each musician shines in their solos and in their contributions to the ensemble.

In addition to the Trout Quintet, the album includes two other pieces by Schubert: the Quartettsatz in C minor and the Notturno in E-flat major. Both of these pieces are beautiful and showcase Schubert's mastery of composition.
