Review by Ryan Ralph

The Griots Footsteps by Graham Haynes is a stunning album that showcases the artist's skillful blend of jazz and African music. The album features a range of instruments, from traditional African percussion to contemporary jazz trumpet, creating a unique and captivating sound.

Haynes draws inspiration from the griots, West African storytellers who use music to convey their tales. This influence is evident throughout the album, as Haynes weaves together intricate melodies and rhythms that tell stories of love, loss, and the human experience.

One standout track is "The Call," which features a haunting trumpet melody that is both beautiful and melancholy. Another highlight is "Bou Bou," which showcases Haynes' mastery of African percussion.
