I'm Gonna Stand By You is better than I'm Coming Home.

By this time in 1965-1966 the Hollywood Flames were at the end of their career as such with John Berry, formerly of the Washington, DC Rainbows who recorded 'Mary Lee' in the early 1950's, on poor lead vocals for the A-side, and George Watson, tenor lead on the much better Northern Soul 'killer ballad' B-side, David Ford, tenor, and Joe Thompson, baritone-bass rounding out this final aggregation of Hollywood Flames quartet.

One of their best soul efforts!

Gorgeous recording, perhaps the last single by the Hollywood Flames. It was arranged by the incredible Richard Tee (November 24, 1943 – July 21, 1993) a sensational American pianist, studio musician, singer and arranger (see his Wikipedia page). One of his most amazing recordings (though certainly not very well-known) is his recording of "California Dreaming" with Melanie on vocals from her 1978 album, "Phonogenic (Not Just Another Pretty Face)." His piano accompaniment and arrangement is nothing short of brilliant, and it evoked from Melanie one of her finest performances ever!
