The album A Tribute To Kenny Clarke by the hr Bigband is a stunning tribute to the legendary jazz drummer Kenny Clarke. The Francy Boland Big Band has done an excellent job of capturing the essence of Clarke's style and incorporating it into their own sound.
The album features a collection of Clarke's most iconic compositions, including "Sippin' at Bells" and "Bohemia After Dark," as well as some lesser-known gems. The hr Bigband's arrangements are tight and dynamic, showcasing the individual talents of each musician while maintaining a cohesive sound.
One of the standout tracks on the album is "Willow Weep for Me," which features a beautiful saxophone solo by Heinz-Dieter Sauerborn. The band's rendition of "La Villa" is also particularly impressive, with its intricate rhythms and soaring horn lines.
