Jeremy Soule - The Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion

Review by Kevan Emmott

The Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion, composed by Jeremy Soule, is an exceptional album that transports the listener to the fantasy world of Tamriel. The album consists of 23 tracks, each of which is unique and captivating, showcasing Soule's talent for creating immersive soundscapes.

The opening track, "Reign of the Septims," sets the tone for the rest of the album with its grandiose orchestration and choir vocals. From there, the album takes the listener on a journey through the different regions of Tamriel, each with its own distinctive sound and style.

Tracks like "Through the Valleys" and "Watchman's Ease" have a more tranquil and serene quality, while "King and Country" and "All's Well" are more upbeat and lively. The album also features hauntingly beautiful tracks like "Dusk at the Market" and "Sunrise of Flutes," which add a sense of mystery and intrigue to the overall sound.

Soule's use of orchestral instruments, including strings, brass, and percussion, is masterful, and he blends them seamlessly with electronic elements to create a unique and immersive sound. The album's production quality is top-notch, and each track is mixed and mastered to perfection.

I played Skyrim 1600 hours, Oblivion 400 hours. But if anyone ask me to give them a score, I give Skyrim 8.5/10 ; Oblivion 9.8/10 , music is one of the many reason why.

That gentle power in those compositions fueled my sail and showed me places far deep in my soul i could never travel to alone; truly the essence of the wings of Kynareth.
Thank you dear Jeremy Soule.

Skyrim was a really good game but Oblivion is really special. For me Oblivion is better.

Hey guys! You should definitely try "Dawn gleams on Cyrodiil" from ESO soundtrack. There's a reference on this one to that music

This was the soundtrack to which I became Sheogorath and took his throne, surrounded by my devoted servants. One of the most epic and dramatic moments I ever had in the game!

This one's the best, but you need a good quality hi-fi system to be able to discover and feel all that subtle bass and treble tremors… so ear soothing…

And to think that only 5 years after Oblivion's release, the world would explode as Skyrim released.

Feel like Oblivion was better than Skyrim to my opinion. Mainly due to the landscape and the music. Sitting on the hill by the road that goes completely around the Imperial City by the Inn next to the road to Bruma and staying right when the sun sets, the blue, red, and orange sky with the green fields and blue body of water with the bridge and city below. Just one of those sight you'll never forget.

I wish bethesda made games like oblivion or Morrowind again because there's something about these games that no other bethesda game or open world game in general has.
