Jim Jones And The KoolAde Kids - Trust Me

Review by Семён Ивасишин

Trust Me, the latest album from Jim Jones and The KoolAde Kids, is a refreshing and upbeat addition to the indie-rock scene. The album features a mix of catchy guitar riffs, driving drum beats, and Jones' signature raspy vocals.

One of the standout tracks on the album is "Rooftops," a high-energy song that showcases the band's ability to create a memorable hook. "Trust Me" is another standout track, featuring a more laid-back vibe and introspective lyrics.

Heavy, grinding, sludge metal punk with fast thrash parts. Tuned so low that I'd bet the guitar strings hung like rubber bands. Killer, depth-charge, grunt that sounds as fresh today as it did in ' 86. Kablooey, sir.

I stumbled on this after thinking about what came of my JimJones t-shirt of 30 years ago - from a GrandHaven show around '86

I bought this after writing to the band. Does anybody know if Common Cause has any copies of the CD? My vinyl copy is worn-out . Please reply here if you read this. Many thanks per James G. Simmons.

One very overlooked album that came out the same year as Post Mortem "Coroner's Office". There were definitely similarities between the two... With the punky thrash/almost death stuff mixed with doom metal.
