my favorite review of the album.....
By
Golovanov Alexey
This review is from: Joe Prichard & Gibraltar (Audio CD)
A little-known (most regretfully!) hard-rocking act from Missouri, whose first and only LP was recorded and issued by private-owned Kendall-Lee label in 1974 (500 copies only); the genuine LP has a rather unpretentious black & white gatefold sleeve with black label (fetching around $ 400), while limited edition bootleg re-issue is with impressive burgundy sleeeve gold embossed and with scarlet label(and might be still around at $40-60).
Although it has 5 tracks only, they are worth more than many albums by bigger names - that's one of the most fiersome guitars I've ever heard, with absolutely exceptional synth, Moog, keyboards and flute.
The original name of the album is "Joe Prichard & Gibraltar" (dunno why), and Joe Prichard himself played mainly piano, organ, Moog and even saxophone, while on the lead guitar was Vincent West, backed by David Harmon (bass) and Norman Pelot on bass. The arrangements were made by Steve Armstrong, who also played flute.
Excellent hard rock, mixed with psychedelia and drifting towards prog, ranging from traditional "Rose Petal Lady" to Jethro Tull-inspired flute-driven "The Machine Is Small Enough

I mentioned your remastering to Joe this morning. He said he would look up the video. Hopefully he will post here.

Yes. I see Joe most mornings for a cup of coffee before work. It is quite a cooincidence that he was talking about this

This is the best sounding version of Blind Man I have ever heard....clarity of the voice....piano, drums.......thank you......I mentioned this song to Patrick Thompson of the Voice....He grew up where this album was made.....no pressure.....I told him he should record this now or ten years from now...it will always be a good song....I would like to see what professional producers could do.......I would think shorten it and maybe....I am not sure....stay away from so many tempo changes.......legally....I do not have any idea about rights and royalties......it was kind of a practice trial run in 1974. lots more info about the history of the band, which I am not a part of....http://www.stlmusicyesterdays.com/Gibraltar.htm (I am not in the photo)

Geiler Song! Und nach der Stelle bei 1:22 weiß ich jetzt auch, woher The Devil's Blood die Inspiration zum Titelsong der "Thousandfold Epicentre" hatten ;-)
