Review by Ajay More

The album Stabat Mater Hob XXbis by Joseph Haydn, performed by Wegener, Reinhold, Colzer, Noack, Kammerchor Stuttgart, Hofkapelle Stuttgart, and Frieder Bernius, is a stunning rendition of one of Haydn's most moving works. The soloists' voices are rich and expressive, conveying the deep emotion of the text with ease. The choir and orchestra provide a beautiful accompaniment, with precise and sensitive playing throughout. Bernius leads the ensemble with a keen sense of pacing and dynamics, bringing out the full range of Haydn's dramatic and tender moments. this recording is a must-have for anyone who loves Haydn's music or choral works in general.

About Joseph Haydn Wegener, Reinhold, Colzer, Noack, Kammerchor Stuttgart, Hofkapelle Stuttgart, Frieder Bernius

Born: 1732-03-31 (Rohrau, Austria) Born 31 march or 1st April, 1732. Died: 1809-09-05 (Vienna, Austria). Franz Joseph Haydn was an Austrian composer of the Classical period. He brings the "sonata form" to a very high degree of improvement. His symphonies and his string quartets (forms of which he is considered "the father") have become highly inspirational style models. Haydn made a fundamental contribution to the development of chamber music; thanks to the numerous quartets, trios for piano, for strings and also with the unusual trios for baryton, viola and cello.
