Kelly Brown - African Disco

Review by Claudia Bianchi

African Disco is the latest album released by Kelly Brown, and it is a fantastic collection of upbeat and energetic tracks that showcase her unique style and talent. The album is a fusion of African rhythms and disco beats, resulting in a sound that is both familiar and fresh.

The album opens with the title track, "African Disco," which sets the tone for the rest of the album with its infectious melody and catchy chorus. Other standout tracks include "Funky Love," "Dance All Night," and "Celebrate," all of which feature Brown's soulful vocals and expertly crafted beats.

One of the strengths of this album is its ability to transport the listener to a different time and place. The African influences are evident throughout the album, but they are seamlessly blended with disco elements to create a sound that is both nostalgic and modern.

About Kelly Brown

Born in Mombasa, Kenia He was born in Mombasa with the name Mohammed Abdulkadir Ali Bux and in the seventies, his career began when he toured through the hotel on the Kenyan coast. First, he was less known as a singer, but he impressed the then Kenya tourists with his dance interludes. Beginning of the 80s was as he Michael Jackson "Thriller" with the appearance of almost unmistakable imitation. Many tourists have at the time the performances in the Hotel Club captured on video and some of them found on YouTube. After him the stage of Mombasa for Brown was too short, he first moved to Nairobi, where he Nightclub "Bonanza" (now known as Florida occurred), which now belongs to his younger brother. But he moved quickly to Europe, where he found his new home in Stuttgart. Here, he then adopted the name of Kelly Brown, as a tribute to his idol James Brown. He toured the various clubs. However, he was aware of his African roots and always represented his nation abroad. In 1973 he returned to Kenya and released the singles "Something is Wrong" (originally by Sam & Dave) and a cover of "Funky Stuff" (Kool & The Gang). After a few guest appearances in hotels, radio and television, he found that the Kenyans want to 'fake' cover versions no longer and would rather preferred their own original music. He adapted and published on the local, patriotic songs such as "Asante ya Punda" and "Kenya Yetu Nchi" followed by the title "Higher" which in no time was a hit internationally. So he always commuted between Stuttgart and Nairobi, and each time he returned to his home, he devoted himself to his countrymen, who were not so fortunate and less well-off and gave charity performances. Its probably the greatest dream for a mega Kenya tour and a film-rotation remained unfulfilled. It was after he was missing about six weeks, in his Stuttgart apartment found dismembered. That was on the 3rd February 1989. The death was never solved, but it was suspected that it was a revenge murder was because he once created with a Kenyan tycoon should have. His final published major hit to "Cannot get Enough" to have been, but with hitherto were not assignable to literature, and no commercially available specimens found. But the top hits like "Higher," "Sexy Lady" and especially "Only You Can
