The Kinks are an English rock band formed in Muswell Hill, North London, in 1964 by brothers Ray and , and . During their existence they have played different styles of rock ('n' roll) music.
Pete Quaife left The Kinks during the rehearsals. In a June 2018 interview, Ray Davies stated that he, along with brother Dave, and drummer Avory, had reformed The Kinks for a new studio album and to potentially perform live.
Inducted into Rock And Roll Hall of Fame in 1990 (Performer).

I knew in 1965 I knew they were "Rocking"and I was only a kid. Although I'm sure it was because "You Really Got Me" was on the radio many times my brother and I play with our Silly Putty. This song I remember in the 70's and thought it was a Woodstock (perhaps) didn't know it was them. The Kinks are ahead of there time.

This song just soothes the soul..The feeling it puts me into never gets old, My mind is the same, it's my body that is old, shrunk and painful ..but the music ....It's the magical fountain of youth....

I did not english well When I heard this song for the first time in the radio. Maybe a few sentences that´s was all, but that music was somethig else. Besides the albums Beatles I had a few Kinks records too, that was enough for me to be happy and sang this song everytime I could.
