About László Sáry

Hungarian composer and pianist, born 1st January 1940 in Győrasszonyfa. László Sáry studied composition at the Budapest Conservatory. For years, he worked as componist and conductor from the New Music Studio in Budapest, which he founded together with a few other colleage-componists in 1970. His compositions show a lot of minimalistic properties and is strongly influenced by avant-garde music of en . In his later works, you can also find influences from Japan, where he stayed in 1996 to study Japanese music, dance and theatre. Sáry is active in the MUSE-projects of , who brings poor children into contact with music, dance and movement. He developed the Sary-method, who provides a training for skills in the area of musical memory, concentration, improvisation, composition and playing together. The divers parts can be offered on different levels, so that also children without musical background can work with it.
