The album In The Ghetto The Beast In Me by Leningrad Cowboys is a captivating and unique work of art. The band's signature blend of rock and roll, punk, and Russian folk music is on full display throughout the album, creating a sound that is both familiar and fresh.

The album opens with the title track, "In The Ghetto," a cover of the classic Elvis Presley song. Leningrad Cowboys puts their own spin on the track, infusing it with their trademark energy and attitude. The rest of the album features a mix of original songs and covers, each one showcasing the band's incredible musicianship and songwriting skills.

One standout track is "Bumpersticker Rock," a catchy and upbeat song that perfectly captures the band's irreverent spirit. Another highlight is "Siberian Rock," a nod to the band's roots in Russia that features traditional folk instruments alongside electric guitars and drums.

Awesome, I recorded this from the radio, probably in 1987. Today I saw Dolly Parton on tv and the words came back: "...without doing anything special - not working I mean!" and then I had to hear this. So thanks! Time has changed. This was easier to get from YouTube on my phone than to get to the storage building and dig the cassette out of that light blue 12-cassette box!

Wow. That really sucked. Just shows what an idea can evolve into.
