I was visiting the channel for Auerbach's compositions and happened on this recital. I heard Pictures for the first time about 50 years ago. This is the first time I think I get The Old Castle (even if I may now go back to some less dramatic interpretations).

Wow, what an incredibly captivating performance! I started listening to several recordings of Mussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition at the age of eight years, but after listening to yours I feel like I've completely understood the hole composition for the first time in my life. Thank you for that!

What a revelation! The depth and the dynamics. Nobody moved and touched me as deep as this for a long time. Gorgeous interpretation

I'm back for more! This is my very favorite rendition...thank you so much! This deserves more views, I feel incredibly privileged to have found this. Very, very enjoyable. Such Dynamics, Mussorgsky would have been honored to hear it performed so passionately...

You truly, understand dynamics! This is one of my very favorite compositions, and I am very, very, picky about every little detail when it comes to how each piece is performed in this suite (if I am to really enjoy it, that is!). While it's always impressive to see anyone even attempt to play something so deeply complex, and technically challenging, what is more impressive, is that you have mastered the technical aspect of it so well! Evidently, you are able to clearly focus your expressions, phrases, and really give it the life, character, and feeling it deserves...You really connect well with this, and to my very discerning ears, this is, as close to perfection as I have heard on Pictures. Great camerawork and sound quality, too, thankfully! It would be a shame if such a performance was recorded on sub-par equipment. Many thanks for posting this, I hope you never take it down...thank you.
