Les Barker - The War On Terrier

Review by Widy Jantiko

The album The War On Terrier by Les Barker is a unique and humorous take on the current state of the world. The songs are witty and clever, with lyrics that are both satirical and insightful. Barker's unique style of storytelling is on full display here, and his ability to weave together different themes and ideas is impressive.

The album opens with the title track, "The War On Terrier," a tongue-in-cheek commentary on the war on terror. The song is filled with puns and wordplay, and Barker's deadpan delivery only adds to the humor. Other standout tracks include "The Lost Prawns of Love," which tells the tragic story of a love affair gone wrong, and "The Shipping Forecast," which turns the famous BBC weather report into a meditation on life and death.

Throughout the album, Barker's wit and humor are matched by his musical talent. The songs are expertly crafted, with catchy melodies and clever arrangements. Barker's voice is also a highlight, with a distinctive tone that perfectly suits the material.
