Review by Kimmoni Bailey-Griffiths

Soirées De Vienne by Liszt, performed by Edith Farnadi, is a beautiful album that showcases the pianist's exceptional talent and skill. The album features a selection of Liszt's works that are inspired by the Viennese spirit, including waltzes, polkas, and other dance forms.

Farnadi's performance is flawless and captures the essence of Liszt's compositions. Her playing is delicate and nuanced, yet full of energy and passion. She maintains a perfect balance between the different elements of the music, highlighting the melodies and harmonies with equal attention.

One of the standout tracks on the album is the famous "Liebestraum No. 3," which Farnadi performs with incredible sensitivity and emotion. She brings out the subtle nuances of the piece, creating a beautiful and haunting atmosphere.

Born: October 22, 1811, Doborján, Austria-Hungary (present-day Raiding, Austria). Died: July 31, 1886, Bayreuth, Germany. Franz Liszt was a Hungarian composer, virtuoso pianist, conductor, music teacher, arranger, organist, philanthropist, author, nationalist and a Franciscan tertiary. He was a renowned performer throughout Europe, noted especially for his showmanship and great skill with the piano. To this day, he is considered by some to have been the greatest pianist in history. Liszt's musical invention went into territories which were then almost unexplored, in particular as regards harmonic research, as emerges from the late piano works, which led him to anticipate fragments of harmonies from the early twentieth century. His preference for program music is testified by the numerous symphonic poems he composed. Father-in-law to .
