The Loyal Orangemen - The Orange Of Ulster

Review by DHARAK PATEL

The Orange of Ulster by Loyal Orangemen is an album that captures the essence of Irish culture and heritage. From the opening track, the listener is transported to the lush green hills of Ulster, where the sound of bagpipes and fiddles fill the air.

The album is a celebration of traditional Irish music, with each track showcasing the band's exceptional musicianship and passion for their craft. The Orange of Ulster features a variety of songs, from upbeat jigs and reels to haunting ballads and laments.

One of the standout tracks on the album is "The Battle of the Boyne," a stirring tribute to the historic battle that took place in 1690. The song's soaring vocals and driving rhythm capture the spirit of the battle, and the band's skillful instrumentation brings the story to life.

Another highlight of the album is "The Orange and the Green," a classic Irish folk song that tells the story of a family divided by religious and political differences. The Loyal Orangemen's rendition of the song is both powerful and poignant, with heartfelt vocals and a stirring accompaniment.

I know that I made some comments etc on the posting that had the sings from side 1....so....for this one,I should ask:When Ray Sonin had the radio program "Calling All Britons" on the Toronto,Canada AM radio station CFRB 1010 (from 1958 to 1991) did he ever play any songs from this specific record on that program? (I,myself, would hear that program a certain number of times in the 1970s [when I first became aware of it;as I was born in the mid-to-late 60s] and in the 1980s....but...I-presently-have no recollection of hearing any of these songs there.....)
