Main's album Dry Stone Feed is a masterclass in experimental post-rock. The album opens with the track "Firmament," which sets the tone for what's to come with its driving rhythm and distorted guitars. The second track, "Dry Stone Feed," is a standout with its haunting vocal samples and atmospheric soundscapes.
Throughout the album, Main showcases their ability to seamlessly blend different genres and sounds. "Spectral," for example, features a pulsing electronic beat that gradually builds to a crescendo, while "Haloform" is a slow-burning, atmospheric piece that builds to a chaotic climax.
One of the album's highlights is "Corona," which features guest vocals from Robert Hampson of Loop. His haunting vocals perfectly complement the track's sparse instrumentation and atmospheric soundscapes.
