Matthew Strachan's 25 Year Songbook Part II is a delightful collection of songs that showcases his incredible talent as a songwriter and musician. This album is a follow-up to the first part of his 25 Year Songbook, and it features some of his best work from the past few years.

The album opens with the upbeat and catchy "Hey Hey Hey," which sets the tone for what's to come. From there, the listener is taken on a journey through a variety of musical styles, from the mellow and introspective "Without You" to the energetic and uplifting "Let It Shine."

One of the standout tracks on the album is "The Wind and the Rain," a haunting and beautiful ballad that showcases Strachan's skill as a lyricist. The song is a story of lost love and heartbreak, and it's sure to tug at the heartstrings of anyone who's ever been through a difficult breakup.

Another highlight of the album is "The Only One," a powerful and emotional song that features Strachan's soaring vocals and a driving beat that's sure to get listeners moving. The song is a testament to the power of love and the importance of holding onto the people who matter most.

About Matthew Strachan

Matthew Strachan (born: 11 December 1970 - died: 22 September 2021) was an English composer and singer-songwriter. His best known work is the music for the television game show Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? written with his father and the BBC Radio 4 World War I drama series Home Front. He also contributed music to film and television productions such as Extract, The Detectives, Question Time, Winning Lines, jingles for several television commercials, and scores for stage musicals. As a singer-songwriter Strachan was regarded as having a bittersweet style, often employing satire and characterization to make political points about unusual subjects such as social networking and the media. He remarked of his style that he was "somewhere on a spectrum somewhere between Dr. John and Richard Stilgoe". As a composer of stage musicals he was noted for writing songs with a complete narrative arc. Strachan won twelve awards from ASCAP (American Society of Composers Authors and Publishers) and in 2012 received the ASCAP Hall of Fame Award in recognition of ten consecutive wins for the soundtrack of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?
