Never did like this song but I do have good memories tied to it. I can still see my girlfriend at the time in her tied-off Luke Bryan T-shirt and jean skirt sitting next to me in my 94 GMC with her iPod nano hooked to the casette tape to Aux. cord adapter singing along to this both off key and REALLY loud, looking at me and grinning the whole time because she knew she was “torturing me” (I still liked her version better). I was 16 and making $7.25 an hour at a summer job cutting brush for the highway department. Friday nights I’d sneak out at 11:30 and go pick her up and we’d ride around burning through my paycheck in gas, McDonalds and Winston cigarettes I got my cousin’s buddy to sell me at the gas station. That was 13 years ago and it seems like yesterday…..The only thing I regret is having to grow up eventually. I just feel bad for the kids who didn’t have the time of their life in high school. I graduated with a 1.8 GPA and memories to last a lifetime, almost all of them good.
