The album Reptile Men by Neighborhoods has been receiving rave reviews from music critics and fans alike. The third studio album by the American rock band is a perfect blend of punk, post-punk, and new wave music. The album is a testament to the band's versatility and musical prowess.

The album features eleven tracks, each with its unique sound and style. The opening track, "Bleak" sets the tone for the album with its fast-paced guitar riffs and catchy chorus. The lead single, "Parasite" is a punk rock anthem that will have listeners headbanging along.

The lyrics on the album are another highlight. The band tackles themes of alienation, anxiety, and societal issues with a raw and honest approach. The track "Devil's Advocate" is a standout in this regard, with its biting commentary on the current political climate.

The instrumentation on the album is also noteworthy. The band's use of synthesizers and electronic drums adds a new dimension to their sound while still maintaining the raw energy of their punk roots. The track "Reptile Men" is a perfect example of this, with its pulsing beat and haunting synth melody.

The Neighborhoods were a rock'n'roll hard-rock power-pop band (not a "metal" band, as "simone" says). They were an amazing live band that unfortunately never translated their power and glory to a record (Pezband is another example). This record is tainted by the those echo-y 80s drums, but if you put that aside, crank it up, and have a couple-a two tree beers, there are a number of total rock tunes that will get you up on your feet. "Reptile Man" and "Pure and Easy" are 2 examples of rock and roll highlights of the year 1987. Not a classic, but a solid rock n roll album of the era.

In the old days Dave used Marshall 50 watt amp, 2 cabinets (1 was an extension cab), an Ibanez Tube Screamer, and a baby blue mid 70's Fender Strat. His tone was a combination Paul Weller Jam/circa Michael Schenker U.F.O. sound. Piercing but thick. Let's just say it got your attention quick!
