Review by Penny De Los Santos

Novák's "Nikotina Toman And The Wood Nymph" is a stunning album that showcases the incredible talent of the Brno State Philharmonic Orchestra and conductor František Jílek. The music is a beautiful blend of classical and folk influences, with Novák's signature melodic style shining through in every piece.

The opening track, "Nikotina Toman," sets the tone for the entire album with its hauntingly beautiful melody and lush orchestration. From there, the listener is taken on a journey through the magical world of the wood nymphs, with each piece painting a vivid picture of the natural world and the creatures that inhabit it.

The standout track on the album is undoubtedly "The Noon Witch," a dramatic and powerful piece that showcases the orchestra's incredible range and Jílek's masterful conducting. The tension builds throughout the piece, culminating in a frenzied climax that will leave listeners breathless.
