Poor Side Head - Poor Side Head

Review by amber flynn

Poor Side Head, the self-titled debut album by the band of the same name, is a gritty, raw, and powerful collection of blues-infused rock tracks. The album features ten original songs that showcase the band's talent for crafting catchy hooks and memorable melodies, while also exploring the darker side of life.

From the opening track, "Down in the Gutter," it's clear that Poor Side Head is a band that isn't afraid to get their hands dirty. The song's driving rhythm and searing guitar riffs set the tone for the rest of the album, which is filled with hard-hitting tracks like "Broken Bottles" and "Midnight Train."

But Poor Side Head isn't all about raw power. The album also features some more introspective moments, like the haunting ballad "Lonely Road" and the soulful "No One Knows." These songs showcase the band's versatility and depth, and add a nice contrast to the more aggressive tracks.

About Poor Side Head

Poor Side Head were a young hardcore band from Fuengirola, Spain. Their lyrics were sociopolitical and, musically, they were heavily influenced by Downcast, Infest and Hiatus. Following their demise, after a bunch of energetic gigs and a four-song studio demo, two of their members joined Freak Show and then 12 Aullidos.
