About The Rose Garden
The Rose Garden was an American folk rock musical group from Los Angeles, California, that was active in 1967 and 1968.
The members were Diana De Rose on lead vocals and acoustic guitar, John Noreen on 12-string guitar and backup vocal, James Groshong on lead vocal and guitar, William Fleming on bass and Bruce Bowdin on drums.
The group originally formed in Los Angeles in 1964 as the Blokes, by John Noreen, Jim Groshong, Bruce Bowdin, and Bill Fleming. They first performed surf music, then switched to folk-rock and Byrds' covers. De Rose joined in late 1966 or early 1967, and the group was soon renamed to The Rose Garden.
In 1967, they signed with Atco Records and had enjoyed a hit record with "Next Plane To London

Hi Terry DeRose! Your sis and I still get on the phone once in awhile. She said she had lost track of me. It was fun to pry out of the cobwebs all of the fun details with her about this recording session and of course our dealings with Charlie Green and Brian Stone, Sonny and Cher’s producers, with Charlie Underwood’s Nashville West studios in Hollywood… sandwiched between the KHJ Studios and Paramount Studios on Melrose Avenue.

This song got a lot of air play in Buffalo NY, December 1967 and I absolutely loved it then and I still love it today. I bought the mono album, upgraded it to a stereo copy and now I own it on CD.
