Review by Jun BBH

Screaming Mechanical Brain's album "Holiday in Cambodia" is a thrilling and intense journey through the dark and twisted world of punk rock. With their signature blend of aggressive guitars, pounding drums, and snarling vocals, the band delivers a powerful and uncompromising sound that is sure to appeal to fans of the genre.

From the opening track "The Revolution Will Not Be Televised" to the closing number "Dead Man Walking", "Holiday in Cambodia" is an unrelenting assault on the senses. The songs are filled with sharp social commentary, scathing political satire, and a healthy dose of dark humor, making for an album that is both thought-provoking and entertaining.

One of the standout tracks on the album is "Holiday in Cambodia", a blistering indictment of the Western world's fascination with exotic cultures and the exploitation that often comes with it. The song's catchy chorus and driving rhythm make it an instant classic.

Notes

"Towards the end of SMB's life, they started playing a cover of Holiday In Cambodia by The Dead Kennedys. People seemed to enjoy it at the live shows, so they threw together a shitty one take recording. It never really got mixed, and then the band broke up-but Rev. John eventually got irritated that it was just sitting there so he threw together a laptop speaker mix and put it on there internet. The band doesn't exist anymore so no one gives a fuck if anything sounds good. Who are we trying to impress now? So here it is in all of it's half assed glory about a year after it was first recorded. Also it's missing a guitar part probably. Whatever."-SMB
