Breaking the Silence is the third studio album by British rock band Skin, released in 1997. The album features a blend of heavy rock riffs, soulful vocals, and powerful lyrics that explore themes of social injustice, personal struggles, and empowerment.
From the opening track "Don't Need a Reason" to the closing ballad "Redemption," Skin delivers a high-energy, emotionally charged performance that showcases their musical prowess and creative vision. The guitar work of Myke Gray and the dynamic vocals of lead singer Deborah Anne Dyer (aka Skin) are particularly impressive, creating a sound that is both raw and polished.
The album's standout tracks include "Take Me On," a hard-hitting anthem that encourages listeners to stand up for themselves and fight against oppression, and "Nothing But," a soulful ballad that showcases Skin's vocal range and emotional depth.
