Very true - because they didn't exist as a working band in the Eighties. This album was released in 1975, and it was a sore disappointment after the very good "Slow Flux" reunion album.

Wasn't thrilled with the inclusion of a synth in Steppenwolf but, I will admit they still had the energy, and excellent drums mixed fairly upfront on this one. They were always a great band. John Kay is a superb lead vocalist -- a classic rock vocalist. Would have preferred the heavy original Steppenwolf approach to this dynamic song -- the one they possessed during their hit-making heyday. What a tight unit that band was. The synth part should be replaced with a punchy saxophone lead on that melody line.
