Review by Marsha Miles

Tandy's self-titled album is a refreshing and soulful offering that showcases the band's tight musicianship and thoughtful songwriting. The album is a fusion of various genres, including Americana, folk, and rock, and the band seamlessly blends these sounds to create a unique and cohesive sound.

The album's opener, "The Invisible Man," sets the tone for the rest of the record with its driving beat and catchy melody. Other standout tracks include "The Art of Letting Go," a poignant ballad that showcases the band's vocal harmonies, and "It's All Right," a feel-good rocker that will have listeners tapping their feet.

Throughout the album, Tandy's lyrics are introspective and heartfelt, exploring themes of love, loss, and self-discovery. The band's instrumentation is also top-notch, with each member contributing their skills to create a rich and layered sound.

About Tandy

Allmusic: Roots rockers Tandy, named after a character in Sherwood Anderson's Winesburg, Ohio, hail from New York City. Singer/songwriter Mike Ferrio, who leads the group, was born and raised in rural upstate New York, near the Canadian border, and his songs are often charged with memories of his childhood in a remote farming community. For a period during the '80s, Ferrio served as a roadie for groups such as the Saints and Butthole Surfers. Ferrio and drummer Tom McCrum, who grew up in Dublin, Ireland, formed Tandy in the mid-'90s and the group released its self-titled debut shortly thereafter. Their fourth album, the Bloodroot Transcriptions, came out in 2001. The effort saw a more stripped-down approach, as well as the addition of multi-instrumentalist Drew Glackin (the Silos) and Scott Yoder (Star City, Blue Chieftains, World Famous Blue Jays).
