The Unseen - So This Is Freedom

Review by Юрий Поздников

Unseen's So This Is Freedom is a punk rock album that delivers hard-hitting riffs, aggressive vocals, and politically-charged lyrics. The band's energy and passion are evident in every track, as they tackle issues such as government corruption, war, and social injustice.

The album opens with the explosive track "False Hope," which sets the tone for the rest of the record. The guitar work is impressive throughout, with fast-paced solos and heavy breakdowns that keep the listener engaged. The drums are also tight and powerful, driving the songs forward with a relentless energy.

Vocalist Mark Unseen delivers his lyrics with a raw intensity that perfectly matches the music. His voice is rough and gritty, adding to the overall sense of urgency and rebellion that permeates the album. The lyrics themselves are thought-provoking and often confrontational, urging listeners to question authority and fight for their rights.

The band's 1999 album, So This Is Freedom?, is a clone of their debut.

I bought lower class crucifixion back at a show in the 90s , they were on tour for this album. I couldn’t remember the name of it until I came across this. Thanks for the upload. I guess this was their only other good one.

"Are We Dead Yet" is clearly a Pinkerton Thugs song that Paul re-purposed for the Unseen RIGHT after they recorded "End of an Era" and broke up. Right down to the guitar solo. You old Boston punks know what I am talking about.
