The Poplar Records Story is a fantastic compilation album featuring various artists from the Poplar Records label. The album is a great representation of the label's diverse and rich musical history, spanning from the 1950s to the 1970s.
The album features some of the label's biggest hits, including "Shake, Rattle and Roll" by Big Joe Turner, "I'm a Man" by Bo Diddley, and "Tell Me" by Howlin' Wolf. The tracks are arranged in a way that showcases the label's evolution over the years, from its early blues and R&B roots to more rock-oriented sounds.
