Review by Matthew Cain

Dark Matter is the fifth studio album by the American metalcore band Word Alive. Released in 2016, the album features 12 tracks that showcase the band's signature blend of heavy riffs, catchy choruses, and introspective lyrics.

The opening track, "Dreamer," sets the tone for the album with its soaring vocals and driving guitar riffs. Other standout tracks include "Trapped," which features a guest appearance by August Burns Red vocalist Jake Luhrs, and "Sellout," which addresses the pressures of the music industry.

The album also features a number of slower, more introspective tracks, such as "Oxygen" and "Forgotten," which showcase the band's ability to write emotionally charged ballads.

The band's 2016 album, Dark Mater, contains more Post-Rock elements, but isn't much different from their previous releases.
