When it started out in 1969, the line-up was: (Guitar-Backing-Vocals, ex-), (Drums, ex-), (Guitar, ex-Lttle Johnny & Flaming Stars), (Vocals), (Bass, ).
Line-up in 1970: , , (Bass, ex-California License), (ex-, went to and stayed there from 1971 until 1974).
In 1974, the line-up changed to: , , and (Bass, ex-). In that year, Amsterdam fell apart. became a famous producer and composer. He released some solo records as Peter Bewley.

Amsterdamse formatie, ooit begonnen als Penny Wise, die haar hoogtepunt kent in de vroege jaren zeventig. De groep legt zich toe op kwaliteitspop en is goed voor hits als Indian Pipe en Lucy Lucy. Zanger Peter van Asten brengt tevens onder het pseudoniem Peter Bewley enkele singles uit en vormt samen met Richard de Bois onder de naam Ladybird Productions een succesvol produktieduo. Tevens is Van Asten actief als songschrijver voor andere artiesten.
