Review by Linda Pierre

Count Me In, the third album by British band Blue Mink, is a captivating mix of pop, rock, and soul. Released in 1970, this album features a collection of well-crafted songs that showcase the band's versatility and creativity.

The opening track, "Sunday" sets the tone for the album with its upbeat melody and catchy chorus. The song is followed by "Good Morning Freedom," a song that features a funky bassline and an infectious groove that will make you want to dance.

The album's title track, "Count Me In," is a soulful ballad that showcases lead singer Madeline Bell's powerful vocals. The song is a standout track on the album and one of the band's biggest hits.

Other notable tracks on the album include "Stay with Me," a beautiful love song with a memorable melody, and "Our World," a socially conscious song that addresses issues of poverty and inequality.

This was released in May 1972 and played on Alan Freeman's weekly Sunday show Pick of the Pops as a new release but sadly did not make it despite being a great song, with the usual 'hope for the world and humanity' lyrics that this talented band often produced. When I was a kid growing up in South London I used to live next door to the pianast/organist, Roger Coulham. Checkout 'Stay with me' for a really beautiful love song - so good !
