I first heard this on the film some kind of wonderful and was like wow wot is that song, and the part wen he looks up and she's looking at him and the music bloody amazing. I remember rewinding the video tape on that part lots of times. I'm showing my age lol. Happy days.

Damn... This reminds me of when I take the freeway at night in my city (who am I kidding, I blast my car stereo if I'm only going to my local grocery store that's 3-4 minutes away). I too blast this song from time to time along with many other songs from lots of other bands (mostly Post-Punk/Goth/New Wave/Synthwave/Coldwave/Shoegaze etc. etc.).
The lit evening cityscape just lends itself naturally to that music. Not to mention, it's really cool to hear the _'Some Kind Of Wonderful'_ mix to this criminally underrated and long forgotten gem. At 7:46, I have flashbacks of Amanda slapping Hardy and both Keith and Duncan's jaws dropping in mock surprise. Classic and iconic films by Hughes. I'm glad that I got to see them in theaters back when they debuted.
The great memories this song evoke in my mind, serve as a reminder of a simpler time in my youth. Back when I threw caution to the wind and ran around with my cousin and my friends; all of us carefree and having a blast. Going to concerts, listening to awesome music (all of which I still listen to now), kicking back in dimly lit pool halls, chasing after girls we liked and sometimes even managing to get the girl(s) in the end. Great but, bittersweet memories of a time long gone now. This video is too damned cool...
