Review by wide bratha

Just Being Here, a collaborative album by Coleman Barks and David Darling, is a mesmerizing collection of spoken word and cello music. Barks, known for his translations of Rumi's poetry, recites several of his own poems in his characteristic soothing voice, while Darling's cello adds a layer of emotional depth to the tracks.

The album opens with "The Light Inside," a poem that speaks of the inner light that shines within every human being. Darling's cello provides a haunting backdrop to Barks' words, creating a sense of introspection and contemplation. "The Love Inside," another standout track, is a beautiful ode to the power of love, with Barks' words and Darling's cello intertwining to create a sense of warmth and comfort.

Throughout the album, Barks' words and Darling's music complement each other perfectly, creating a seamless blend of poetry and melody. The tracks are all relatively short, making the album an easy listen from start to finish. The final track, "Just Being Here," is a fitting end to the album, with Barks' words encouraging listeners to appreciate the present moment and the beauty of life.
