Heavier Than Yesterday is a delightful jazz album by the renowned pianist David Benoit. The album features nine tracks that showcase Benoit's mastery over the piano and his ability to blend various styles of jazz music seamlessly.
The album opens with the track "Ballad of Jane Hawk," which starts with a melancholic piano melody and slowly builds up to a beautiful crescendo. The next track, "Napa Crossroads," is a lively and upbeat tune that features some exquisite saxophone solos.
One of the highlights of the album is the track "Moon and Sand," which is a beautiful rendition of a classic jazz tune. Benoit's piano playing is complemented by the hauntingly beautiful saxophone playing of Bob Sheppard.
Another standout track is "Café Rio," which has a Latin jazz feel to it. The track features some fantastic percussion work and some impressive piano improvisations by Benoit.
