General Crook - General Crook

Review by Domingos Teruel

General Crook's self-titled album is a soulful and funky journey through the sounds of the 1970s. Released in 1974, the album features a mix of upbeat dance tracks and heartfelt ballads, all delivered with General Crook's smooth and soulful vocals.

The opening track, "What Time It Is (Part II)", sets the tone with its infectious groove and catchy chorus. The funk continues with "Do It for Me", a driving dance track that showcases General Crook's impressive vocal range.

But the album also has its quieter moments, such as the beautiful ballad "Thanks But No Thanks". General Crook's voice is full of emotion as he delivers the song's poignant lyrics.

One of the standout tracks on the album is "Gimme Some", a funky, horn-driven track that is sure to get listeners moving. General Crook's vocals are full of energy and passion, and the song's infectious groove is impossible to resist.

A friend of mine used to play this to (at) me "back in the day" (1974).  "I been to your house, it's time you came mine.  Your house too sweet for me, it ain't funky like mine."  I laugh about that still.  I miss him so....
