Hellmouth - Gravestone Skylines

Review by Matteo Resta

Hellmouth's latest album, Gravestone Skylines, is a powerful and intense release that showcases the band's unique blend of hardcore, metal, and punk. The album features 10 tracks that are filled with raw energy, aggressive riffs, and intense vocals that will leave listeners breathless.

The opening track, "The Great Divider," sets the tone for the album with its heavy guitar riffs and relentless drum beats. The following tracks, such as "Apathetic Existence" and "Gravestone Skylines," continue to deliver the same level of intensity and aggression, with lyrics that touch on themes of social and political unrest.

One standout track is "Infinite Rot," which features a slower tempo and more melodic instrumentation, providing a brief respite from the overall chaos of the album. However, the band quickly returns to their signature sound with the following tracks, such as "Fading Light" and "Catharsis."

About Hellmouth

Hellmouth is a Hardcore punk band from Detroit, Michigan, founded by former Suicide Machines singer Jay Navarro, guitarist Alex Awn (from Coalition, Varsity), bassist Jeff Uberti (from Left In Ruin, World of Hurt), and former Fordirelifesake drummer Justin Malek. Disillusioned by the music industry after the breakup of the Suicide Machines, Jay Navarro formed Hellmouth as a way to express his contempt. The result was a band that straddles the line between thrash metal and punk. They released their first demo in 2008 and their first album in Jan 2009.
