I remember the day when I heard about what happened to the Granite Mountain Hotshots on the news. I also remember when I watched Only The Brave for the first time and heard this song... I don't think a song has ever hit me as hard as this one; I can genuinely feel it in my soul and always just stop when I listen to it. The movie and this song especially did an amazing job honoring them and I hope it made their families proud and helped them heal a little.

Watched the goddamn movie without even looking at the blurbs or anything just cz of the cast in there (stupid stupid). Did not know about this tragedy as well (not from US obviously). I was completely shocked and heart broken at the end. Was starting to really love those characters when the tragedy hit. Shows how fickle this life is!
