Review by Suzanne Robbins

The album Live Archive VolX by KTL has been receiving rave reviews from critics and fans alike. The experimental music duo, consisting of Stephen O'Malley and Peter Rehberg, have compiled a collection of live recordings spanning over a decade, showcasing their evolution as artists and their mastery over the genre.

The album opens with the hauntingly beautiful "Theme," featuring O'Malley's signature guitar riffs and Rehberg's atmospheric soundscapes. The duo then takes the listener on a journey through their experimental sound, incorporating elements of drone, ambient, and noise music.

Tracks like "Phill 1" and "Phill 2" showcase their ability to create intense, hypnotic rhythms, while "Leaving the Body" and "Last Spring: A Prequel" exhibit their more ethereal, dreamlike side.

The album's standout track is undoubtedly "The Phantom Carriage," a 22-minute epic that builds slowly into a crescendo of distorted guitars and thunderous drums. It's a masterful display of KTL's ability to create an immersive, otherworldly experience for the listener.
