Lola Flores' second album, simply titled Nº 2, is a true representation of the artist's flamenco roots and her unique style. Released in 1959, the album features 12 tracks that showcase Flores' incredible vocal range and her ability to convey emotion through her singing.
The album opens with "La Zarzamora," a traditional flamenco song that Flores infuses with her own flair. Her voice is powerful, yet delicate, as she sings about lost love. Another standout track is "Pena, Penita, Pena," which has become one of Flores' signature songs. The song's lyrics are poignant and Flores' delivery is heart-wrenching.
Throughout the album, Flores is accompanied by a talented group of musicians who provide the perfect backdrop for her vocals. The guitar playing is especially noteworthy, as it adds to the emotional depth of the songs.
