What a talented guy! I live within an hour's drive to Richmond, VA and I hope he is still performing there! The list of artists that are similar to him is not complete without J. J. Cale added to the list, although I suppose he is more interesting as a songwriter than JJ. He has JJ's sense of boogie though (I hate the word but it is what it is). Now that I think further, I would almost say he is amixture of JJ Cale and Marvin Gaye. He has the same 'party within a party' groove of instrumentation that Marvin had on What's Going On.Give this guy a shot, it would be a real waste if he doesn't get to rise to the top.
