This song seemed to be a bit ahead of its time. Pop wasn’t really a thing just yet. Maybe 1984 or 1985 after MJ, Madonna, and such…but 1982? But then again there were the Go gos and Toni Basil.

I dig that alto sax just wailing at the end of this. Also of course Toto's Jeff Porcaro on drums. Played more sessions in the 80's than I don't know who.

I thought at the time that this was her answer to the Punk revolution that was happening then. She stepped up the tempo. Good stuff.

Back in 1986 when I was a one year old baby my mom recorded me on video while I was dancing to this song! Of course my dance moves weren’t very good cuz I was only a baby ?

Next to Don’t Cry Out Loud, this is Melissa Manchester’s best song. Honorable mention, Midnight Blue. A masterpiece with this one.

In that decade my girl would intro me to her friends and were impressed with me. I was baffled. So often I was told by her friends that she would say such nice and wondrous things of me.
I took it for granted and only 1/2 believed. I understand now, thanks to this song which I also took for granted.

A massive talent. I can't wait to see her in my home town of Hampton, Va. in Feb. I fell in love with her when I saw Ice Castles.

I love this song I remember it in 1982. It came out when I was 21 years old. Now I'm 61 years old. I feel so old.
